(ongoing)
Agnes and Eula is an ongoing collaborative project that I created with Sonia Fegelson, a fiction writer and dramatist currently getting her MFA at NYU. Agnes and Eula chronicles the correspondence between two chronically ill pre-teen girls who met in an internet chatroom. Agnes, bound to her bed by an ailment she refuses to disclose, lives more through the worlds of reddit forums, online communities and the drawings in her notebook than the walls of the bleak hospital where her body is housed. She is a visual communicator who loves to make gifs and drawings. Eula identifies as dead but alive on the internet, and has been diagnosed by members of the adult world with Cotard's Syndrome. She is a strong writer who communicates primarily through email. Together, the girls strive to find freedom from the restricted lives they lead under the watchful gaze of adults and liberation through correspondence.
